Born and raised just outside of Vancouver, BC, Canada, Azia grew up immersed in the fine arts. By age six, she was already enrolled in dance and piano lessons, soon to be followed by vocal and guitar lessons as well.

Azia has been heavily influenced by artists of all genres, from Elvis Presley to Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey to Incubus, Dallas Green to Lauryn Hill. She listens to and is inspired by everything from jazz to hip hop to rock.

From the time she could hold a pen, writing has been a big part of Azia’s life, so it only seems natural that she began to write songs in her early teens, having completed her first full song by age 14. She writes about what she knows and the things she feels, often exposing raw emotion from a very honest place. Sometimes things come out in her music she didn’t even know were there.

As many interests and studies as Azia pursued over the years, the one passion in her life that remained constant was always music.
